Whether you want to seat 200 or more people theatre style or organise an informal meeting for ten, the Caladh Inn has a complete range of facilities for your business.
We are used to hosting meetings, conferences and trade-shows for local commerce and institutions, but we also provide for many off-island clients. Subject to product dimensions, the ballroom also operates well as a sale room for trading functions and is regularly used by both island and mainland based retailers.
All banqueting/conference rooms are located on the first floor of the hotel, with passenger lift access.
A large conference venue in Stornoway – the Garry Ballroom
With a comfortable capacity of around 200 persons seated theatre style, 160 guests for a dinner, the first floor Garry Ballroom is a good size, while remaining intimate, thanks to its relatively low ceiling height and squarish dimensions.
The room has some natural light through ‘light well’ windows on one side, so does not feel too enclosed, while being free of the distractions caused by direct sunshine.
There is a low (15cm), permanent stage of 6.8 metres in width, ideal for a speaker to present from, without the audience having to point their heads uncomfortably high.
The Tonga bar/lounge leads directly off the Garry Room and has a wide sliding divider,which may be opened if desired, to combine the two rooms. The Croft suite is directly opposite, across the access corridor.
It should be noted that access with is restricted to 100 cms for objects carried up stairs (via Croft suite entrance direct from car park), 80 cms for objects to be transported in the lift. In practice this rarely causes a problem for example, a supplier of disabled scooters regularly uses us as a sales venue.
Medium size conference and business meeting spaces in Stornoway …the Croft Suite
Comfortable for about 70 theatre style or up to around 50 for a tabled meeting or private meal, the Croft Suite is a flexible space, perfect for many meetings and promotional presentations.
The suite was refurbished in 2009 with completely new, luxury carpeting, decoration, controllable lighting and furniture. Entry to this suite is through a private lounge area, with comfortable, informal seating and coffee tables. This lounge also has a discreet, optional private bar available, if required.
The Tonga lounge – ideal for small meetings in the Outer Hebrides
The Tonga lounge serves as a bar and lounge area for the Garry ballroom, but may be used on its own for small meetings of up to around 15 people when seated at a conference style table.
There are comfortable sofas which may be convenient for group work, or just to relax from time to time.
